Listed Building in Metropolitan Green Belt – Appeal Success
CC Town Planning have secured retrospective planning permission on appeal for substantial extensions to a Grade II Listed Building within the Metropolitan Green Belt.
Working with heritage specialists Cotswold Archaeology, we were able to demonstrate that the extensions to the dwelling and curtilage outbuildings located near to the Hertfordshire town of Sawbridgeworth, would not detract from the setting or special interest of the Listed Building and would not represent inappropriate development within the Green Belt.
As part of a split decision following an enforcement notice appeal hearing the Inspector however ruled that other extensions should now be removed from the building. The decision was a balanced one and we felt that this was the best outcome that we could achieve for our client.
