Holcot Road, Brixworth

CC Town Planning, working closely with APC Architects, secured permission to convert an agricultural building into a contemporary dwelling benefitting from a dramatic outlook over Pitsford Reservoir.

Working closely with the structural engineer and project architect, permission was secured from Daventry District Council using the permitted development route set out under Class Q of the General Permitted Development Order.  This was part of a whole raft of changes made to permitted development legislation in 2013.

Upon completion of the project our client stated “I would like to thank Matt and the team for their friendly professional service.  Their expertise made the process of obtaining ‘Permitted Development’ for my agricultural barn stress free for myself. They overcame all the challenges that were presented and managed the application from start to finish.  I would highly recommend their services and they would be my ‘go to’ company if I require assistance in the future”

This is one of several projects that we have secured permission for using Class Q and we have current commissions from landowners in Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Lincolnshire as well as in Northants.

Agricultural buildings that were solely in agricultural use on 20th March 2013 and that are structural sound, benefit from a relaxed planning regime where usual countryside planning restrictions are relaxed.  However the regulations are complex and need careful consideration before progressing with this type of application, particularly following the outcome of recent legal cases.
